Get the sweet buns. No: get the savory buns. No: get the sweet buns. No. You know what: get them all. All of them were delicious. The shop uses Vietnamese style bao buns as the basis for their buns and that makes them all delicious. I'm disabled and I had trouble finding the shop. Not only did one lovely gentleman come out to the street to wave and get me over, but once I had figured out and pulled up in front a lovely gentlewoman came out, recited the menu to me, and then brought me what I ordered. It's on a great street and they're open ridiculously late. They're to the right of the pizza shop in case their lights aren't on or clear. If you're looking for something truly extraordinary Late in Baltimore go here.

This place never changes!
Frankly, decided (after too long a time) to stop in after my third time for dinner at Poblano Mexican Grill nearby. Just wanted a matcha latte and a place to sit and read and compose my thoughts.
Service is good and low key. Variety of savory meat and veggie "buns" has improved and gained in size over the years, with teas and coffee still key. Tables and couches for the laptop crowd, the same.
Bun is still a rare late-night city oasis for the student, creative or insomniac. Timeless--a comfort zone with relative quietude to decompress in turvy times.

Great tea selection and service. Make sure you get a pastry. We ordered two, and both were super interesting!

The ambiance was interesting. It was dark inside not what I was expecting but they have board games that you can choose from to play. Most people there were working.
The service was great and the food was surprisingly really good! Would go again for the latte and chickpea puff pastry!

Found this place while visiting Baltimore.
It's a different vibe in the best way possible.
It looks closed from the outside because of how dark it is inside.
When you go in you see all types of people quietly going on about the daily grind.
It's the people's WeWork.
The pastries are great, very flaky and buttery.
I got the ham and gruyere and apple turn over.
I recommend getting both.
The coffees we got were so good. I got the Vietnamese iced coffee and my girlfriend got the tres leches latte.
Both are really good, the tres leches is a dessert coffee.
Wish I lived around here so I could come more often.

I'm a 5-star giver but it's because I only review places that seriously stand out to me. That being said, The Bun Shop is such a treasure in an otherwise kind of dirty and dingy neighborhood. The vibes inside are industrial-dusty-coffee shop with lots of people working and studying. Easy-to find outlets. The food is good IMO, I've ordered the granny turnover and the fried Mac and cheese and was happy both times. As for drinks, they have a lot of different teas you can have as well as coffee and I am TRYING to order other things off the drink menu but I am STUCK on the Hot Paris Tea latte. It is so delicious love this place ^_^

Very cute place to get a lite treat. Had a lemon bun with a drip coffee for a break in the day. Really delicate bun with a hint of real lemon flavor. Coffee was good. Lots of people working. Great space for work if you need that space.
